Agriculture employs 1.5 billion people, which is nearly 20% of the world's population. It has done an incredible job in feeding the ever growing human population, expected to reach 10 billion by 2050. It is estimated that 80% of the food we eat comes from agriculture, an industry valued at 14 trillion USD.
Despite its immense impact, agriculture is one of the most traditional industries. However – revolution is on the horizon!

Why now?
In the EU a transition is happening!
The newest EU regulations are banning chemical pesticides from a year to year, exponentially, and fruit farmers need to transition to alternatives called biopesticides.
This is not easy since biopesticides work differently compared to chemical pesticides, and using them requires a different mindset. Fruit growers need help!
Strategies like Green Deal, Farm2Fork along with the Biodiversity strategy are driving the agriculture industry to change radically.
OUR FOCUS
Why Horticulture?
We are focusing on the most lucrative segment of agriculture: the Horticulture; science of growing fruits, nuts and vineyards. This high-value segment is the least digitized, filled with manual labor and with the highest pest and disease pressure.
This all makes it hard to maintain the health of an orchard.
During COVID-19 pandemic, we could see that we were not lacking bread or pasta, but growing fruits and grapes was jeopardized. Arable crops, like wheat, like barley were possible to grow since pesticide ban doesn't affect this segment significantly, and monitoring of these grasses is much easier and already digitized.
